Josh’s interest in Latin Jazz began as a child in the 1960s, in Berkeley, California, where his father, Saul, made early recordings of Cal Tjader and Vince Guaraldi for Fantasy records. At the same time, Josh’s mother, Celia, played 8-track cassettes of Carlos Santana, and Sketches of Spain by Miles Davis. His studies in Spanish music and guitar continued at New York University where he met Panamanian choreographer Doris Chaverra. Josh married Doris in 2018. Their collaborations in music and dance videos are presented here.
Josh has recently written and recorded autobiographical spoken word stories, as well as new original music for solo guitar presented here.
